New name for the Markham Bypass?
December 11 , 2006 – It has been proposed that the Markham Bypass be renamed as Cornell Centre Boulevard. The meeting is scheduled to take place on December 12, 2006.

November 26, 2006 – SayItCornell.com, regarded by some for "dramatic" photography, has included images to some of the street and park names listed below in the Cornell Street Locator and Amenities Guide. Over time, each name will be married to its own photo counterpart (hey, that's a lot of photos there!) so check back often as this feature gets developed – just click on the 'green links' and enjoy!

New Postal Walk for Grand Cornell:
 For all of us who have experienced the task of doing a local mailout, we can agree that the task has been somewhat daunting. For our last mailout, we braced ourselves with a determination to obtain information about Cornell's Postal Walks for sharing - we were met with success (below). Finally, some of the streets in Grand Cornell have been assigned to a Postal Walk:
Dalton Gardens Ln, Foxton Rd, Gosford St, Gribalaston Ln, Kalvinster Dr, Kenilworth Gt, Knights Corners, Ladywood Crt, Lindcrest Manor, Maryterance Crt, Michelina Terrace, Montague's Ln, Outer Banks Dr, St. Jonathan's Ln, The Barley Lea St, and West Normandy Dr.
This Postal Walk also includes the following:
6824 to 7482 Avenue Seven (Hwy 7), 280 to 380 & 377 Church St, 6731 to 6925 14th Ave, 6963 to 8331 14th Ave, 6944 to 7750 19th Ave, 7000 to 7955 9th Line, 7965 to 8750 9th Line, 8881 to 11678 9th Line, Reesor Rd to 11642, a part of 16th Ave, 6352 to 8402 Steeles Ave East, and York Durham Line.
Rouge River Cir, we believe, is a street in Grand Cornell and has been included in the lastest Postal Walk. However, we have found no other reference to it anywhere, aside from the Postal Walk Key. If you can verify this street and its exact location, please email us at info@sayitcornell.com.
Cornell Streets currently without a Postal Walk
Due to construction or recent new-home closings, the following streets do not yet have a Postal Walk assigned:
Abberley St, Albert Lewis St, Balsam St, Black Pine Rd, Calafia St, Capogna St, Chauncey Crt, Clayson St, Cornell Rouge Blvd, Country Green Ln, Countryside Dr, Highbury Crt, Hikers Ln, Hosta Ln, Ivy Stone Crt, Limestone St, Old Oak Ln, Pinecliff Ave, Pinestone Dr, Quail Hollow, Rock Garden St, Saddlebrook Dr, Sage Brush Rd, Shady Oaks Ave, Snow Creek Rd, South Hampton Ave, Summerside St, Tilbury Gt, Toulouse Crt, and Willow Landing St. Others that have just been introduced to site plans, are not yet listed as streets requiring Postal Walks. |

Current Neighbourhoods of Cornell in Markham
Since moving into this area and prior to the launch of this site, we have been designing mini versions of the Cornell Map. Addresses of Cornell could not be found in map publications nor online because the roads were then too new, a common situation still to this day.
Over the years, there have been many questions from residents about empty lots, shopping venues, and (proposed) school locations for our growing community. Due to the demand, SayItCornell.com has developed an extensive Map of Cornell. It was a natural progression to use this site to be informative and design a map specific to the needs of the residents here. It has appeared in The Cornell Crier Newspaper, on CRPA's website, and in various other areas. What's an information and business directory without a map anyway? Hopefully this map can serve as a visual tool about some of the proposed areas of development as well as a locator of all the streets in Cornell! What are you waiting for? Zoom in!
Most of the information that was gathered was obtained from Cornell New-Home Builders' online site plans, the Cornell Parks & Open Space Master Plan dated April 2004, the Cornell Centre Draft Land Use Plan from June 2005, and the Cornell Secondary Plans from January and March 2006.
