Cornell 2nd Annual EEH 'Hops'

April 2006 – The Cornell Annual Easter Egg Hunt (EEH) began on a cold and drizzly afternoon in March of 2005. The idea was sparked by Shoppers Drug Mart owner Chris Yee, now a resident of Cornell. SayItCornell.com was ecstatic to have been asked to be involved once more this year – planning, marketing, and designing every moment of this year’s highly anticipated event strengthened our relationships from EEH 2005. We are genuinely pleased to see the same individuals get involved this year too, volunteering their time and sponsoring the Hunt to entertain the Cornell children.

Lots of preparation ahead of time, a team of Eggztuffers gather to insert chocolates into plastic eggs (sponsored by Shoppers Drug Mart). This gathering is nearly as highly anticipated as the Hunt itself, for it has become a 'night out' for many young parents in the area. Sponsored by SayItCornell.com, the evening can expect good food and beverage, great laughs, and the repetitive popping sound of eggs getting snapped shut!

Why do it again? Because it was just so darn fun the first time and because there just weren’t enough eggs that first year! It’s also about sustaining our community, a more subtle component of the event – yet a perfect opportunity for local businesses to get involved and become more visible within their community!

This year, EEH welcomes back Kids Unlimited for games, DJ Buck McLeod for music, eggs and prizes from Shoppers Drug Mart, a Colouring Contest sponsored by Jam Communications and The Cornell Crier Newspaper, and much more. We look forward to seeing you all there!
