Markham BIA's

A Busines Improvement Area (BIA) is a self-help organization that works to enhance the economic development of the local business community through promotion, special events, advertising, and streetscape beautification. BIAs are supported by the Town, requiring widespread support from the local businesses. Markham has two BIAs, the areas of which are determined by the Province and the Town of Markham. The Markham Village BIA publishes a newspaper, The Village Voice, seven times a year. This covers community news and eents in the Markham Village and surrounding areas. The Village Voice currently has a circulation of 25,000 and is hand-delivered to homes in Markham and Unionville.
