The BFG | Roald Dahl
Siobhan's Book Rating (out of 5): 5 stars

BFG by Roald Dahl

December 2007 – Do you believe in giants? If you don't, you won't like this story, nor this Review because the letters B, F, and G in The BFG by Roald Dahl stand for Big Friendly Giant.

The plot follows a little orphan girl named Sophie. One night she got out of bed to look out the window. Outside, she saw this BIG BLACK... THING! Whatever it was, it was twice as tall as the orphanage – and it was a big orphanage!

From across the street, the thing grabbed Sophie and ran faster and faster! Finally it reached its home and set Sophie on the table.

"Will he eat me?" thought Sophie.

No! He was big and friendly and, well, a GIANT but BFG wasn't going to eat her. Sophie then learned that there are other ghastly giants, three times the size of BFG, that go on eating children every night!

Sophie had to do something and the two newfound friends form a plan. What if it doesn't work? Will Sophie get eaten and will BFG be put in the zoo with crocadiles and snakes – or in BFG's muddled way, crockadidlies and snakesiens?

I won't say any more. Yes, another laugh-out-loud tale for your collection! Look out for some other titles by Roald Dahl amongst many: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches, Matilda (coming soon to SayItCornell.com), James and the Giant Peach, and The Magic Finger.
