January 2008 – If your house is like mine while preparing for this joyous season, it’s a flurry of baking, gift wrapping, card addressing and distribution, along with all of the decorating that helps make the holiday season more festive. This article gives you hints to organize your holiday decorations, including some ‘green Christmas’ ideas.

We avoided catastrophe last year when our powder-room toilet leaked right into that area. The water pooled on the lids but did not penetrate to affect the decorations. Try weather and critter-roof bins for storage in garage if the space in your house is at a premium.
They take up too much space. Try using larger decoration boxes that go on sale during the holidays and may be reused each year to avoid waste.
Green tip: Reuse tissue paper for gifts each year but if there are too many rips or wrinkles, put aside to wrap up special decorations to protect them during storage.
