Resume Writing – Your Skills Brochure
READ MORE FROM SHERI GAMMON DEWLING >>

June 2008 – An organized, effective resume will get you interviews. The job of the resume is to act as the brochure of your skills; designed to ‘pique interest’ in potential employers – not a biography or complete work history. Your job in the interview is to sell the skills your brochure promised. Read More >>

The Kiss
A POEM BY PIRA EBRAHIMI

I dreamed of your kiss... want to know more?
“Sure.”

It was soft yet powerful, moist yet powdery, kind yet passionate... want to know more?
“Sure.”

I woke up... feeling... good, lively and charged... want to know more?
“Sure.”

Fin... want to know more?
“Sure.”

That’s it. The feelings are in the past... life goes on.

She Was Tense
A POEM BY PIRA EBRAHIMI

She was tense, handling many issues at once.
She was tense, worrying about her two special-needs teenagers, her bipolar ex.

She was tense, worrying about the bills, her investments, her ex still hanging on to her,
Her new relationship with a man who seems perplexed and reticent.

She was tense, her boss questioning her way of communicating with others.
She was tense, her relationship was lost.

She was tense... no more.
She cannot control everything.

Coming Through
A POEM BY PIRA EBRAHIMI

The picture of a happily married man taken by his wife...
Pressed shirt...
“Are you ready? C'mon I’m smiling!”
“Got it! Perfect!”

The pain of losing her
He can never be a father
She wants to have children with him
Not happening
They tried many venues
Didn’t work.

He became bitter
Blaming himself for not being fertile
She left him
He is sad

The picture of a man who has lost a battle
Tired... doesn’t care... has no patience
She is gone
He’s lost... everything
The man in the picture exists no more...

Mismatch clothes.
